Job Description

The apprentice will work under the guidance of experienced boilermakers and supervisors to gain practical experience and knowledge in metal fabrication and welding processes. Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and cutting of materials according to specifications
  • Learn to operate machinery such as guillotines, presses, and welding equipment
  • Follow safety procedures and guidelines at all times
  • Participate in on-the-job training to develop skills in metal shaping, bending, and assembling
  • Work collaboratively with senior staff to understand technical drawings and blueprints
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment

Main Tasks:

  • Observe and learn from experienced boilermakers regarding metal fabrication techniques
  • Assist in measuring, cutting, and shaping metal components
  • Gain hands-on experience in welding.
  • Contribute to the assembly of metal structures such as pressure vessels, tanks, and platforms.
  • Participate in quality control inspections to ensure products meet required standards

The apprentice will have the opportunity to develop practical skills while contributing to various projects within the company. This role provides a solid foundation for individuals looking to pursue a career as a qualified boilermaker.

Desired Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will have a genuine interest in completing a National Recognized Qualification, be punctual and reliable, and possess a great work ethic.

It will be highly advantageous if you have already completed a Certificate II in either Engineering pathways or other trade related Certificate, like Automotive Technology. You will also benefit by having an understanding of subjects like Maths, Graphics or Technology.

  1. Please outline your interest in undertaking a Boilermaker Apprenticeship?
  2. Please advise on any previous pre-vocational, vocational, or tertiary qualifications you may have?
  3. Please outline your highest level of education and list your academic record (results of your subjects in your final/current year of education).
